Well, life is interesting as they say.
It has been a long time, the youngest boy is 3. Maybe I can find some free time to get back into my old hobby?
Starting to find myself tooling around, looking at the amazing stuff going on over at http://CoolMiniOrNot.com and some other fun places.
Time will tell I guess.
One thing is for sure, the backend software for the site will have to change. What an ass pain!

sales eBay Goodness from Chest Of Colors
Posted by Mahon on Friday, November 09, 2007 (08:14:20) (2126 reads)

OK, guys. I am quite sick at home and don't spend as much time at my computer as usually as I should stay in bed for most of the time, not much news this time.

After posting new pictures of Galharen's High Elf Lord to his gallery, we also put him on eBay. So now we've got two auctions going on: One for Galharen's High Elf, and the other for Ana's Female Summoner (the topless version), sculpted by Tom Meier.

Check them out to see if you wouldn't be interested...

mini www.ChestOfColors.com news roundup
Posted by Mahon on Friday, October 19, 2007 (02:55:10) (2488 reads)

We haven't been posting roundups of new stuff from Chest of Colors for quite some time now, so let's do it now. Pretty many new paintjobs appeared on our website, so let's present them here in one message:

First we posted Kacpero's Golden Demon winning Cirdan and Illusionrip's Orc. This allowed us to close the subject of Polish Golden Demon.

Two new persons joined our ranks: Marcelle, a talented sculptor, whose works can be seen in Marcelle's gallery, and Elvers, who won in Youngbloods category at Bazyliszek 2007 with his Gretchin with Flamer.

Many works were brought to Bazyliszek, which allowed me to take many photos and post them into our galleries. Several miniatures, including older works, were posted to Nameless' album. I managed to re-post better photos of Demi_morgana's works: his Gorkamorka Ork Nob, Cryx Bane Thralls with Goreshade and Deathwalker, Wolfen Zombie, and theRusty Rhino vs Cthonian diorama. Check the new pictures out, as they do more justice to these works.

Irkuck added his new Chaos Battle Standard Bearer of Tzeentch, which was converted from Archaon and covered with numerous freehands. And last but not least, Ana posted a few new miniatures: Vanda with her V-Guard, the Old Couple - a nice little thing made just before our wedding, and her last work: a Great Unclean One from Forgeworld. Yuck! Wink

event Bazyliszek 2007 - Painting contest results
Posted by Mahon on Friday, October 19, 2007 (02:18:57) (2614 reads)

Yesterday we returned from Bazyliszek - an annual convention in Warsaw. There's always a painting competition at Bazyliszek, called "Van Gork's Sunflowers". Some of us participated in this contest and we're back with a few trophies, and a lot of photos. If you want to see all the winning entries, just visit our forum. But if you want to see even more photos - including all the remaining entries, other miniatures, and photos from the event - just visit the gallery.

For those who are curious who painted which mini, we tried to identify as many authors as possible and put their names in the captions of the pics in the gallery. But if you know the author of an undescribed entry - just let us know.
Thanks a lot! Smile

mini Golden Demon Winners
Posted by Mahon on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 (01:55:21) (2870 reads)

Hi all,

At Chest of Colors we've uploaded pictures of our Golden Demon winning entries: Demon Color's eldar Falcon grav-tank, covered with elaborate freehand patterns, and Ana's Ogre on Rhinox (here seen from other angles). Both of them won gold in their categories, so we believe they should be worth checking out! Of course it's only if you haven't already seen them ;-)Here goes Illusionrip's Nurgle Daemon Prince for Warhammer 40K, which won gold in Warhammer 40K Monster category, and Kacpero's Cirdan which won him silver in the LOTR category. And the last one is Illusionrip's Orc, also a winner of a silver trophy in Warhammer Single Model category. There was also Illusionrip's Sicarius, but you've already seen him in our gallery Smile

I think that's all for this year's Golden Demon Poland, but this doesn't mean we won't paint anything new before the new year Wink Stay with us to see if I am right....

The 2007 Newbold Challenge is dedicated to raising funds for a well known charity called Children in Need.

There are figure painting, drawing and sculpting competitions. There are cash prizes ($100 USD) for the winners of each competition and a small commemorative mini (Anonymous Bodge). And we will give $2 USD to Children in Need on behalf of each person who enters the Challenge.

You can read all about the Newbold Challenge at: http://www.newboldworld.com/challenge.html

We hope one or two of you will enter the Challenge and help us to help Children in Need.
