Posted by dominic on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 (06:56:34) (1090 reads)
Again some new releases from
Freebooter Miniatures
This time we present our first big Monster, an Ogre. It comes in fourteen pieces in total and a height of 74mm. Retail Price 19,50 EUR. Available for pre-order now.

The Ogre is painted by Franz Sander (one of Germanys best known miniature painters - 18 Golden Demons and an Open Categorie winner in UK).
Also new: IMP 003 Imperial Noble , painted by Alexander Elpers (he won the German Slayer Sword in 2001). Six pieces in total and a height of 42mm. Retail Price 9,50 EUR.

And don't forget the girls.
LIM 004 Female (Freebooter) cook
This years special edition for the Fair SPIEL 04 is the Freebooter Cook. She seems to be a bit angry ... Could the floury hands' print on her bottom be the reason?
Limited to 500. The number is stamped on the base and a signed certificate will be included. Retail price 9,50 EUR. Painted by Stefanie Arndt

Last but not least, a preview of the next FB mini: ELF 001 Raleah female Elf. For January release.

Just a few updates and some news...
Posted by Jester on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 (06:55:52) (578 reads)
Well, it's that time of year again... I'm swamped under with family matters. But I did get time to get a couple of new miniatures painted up using the brand new Reaper Master Series Paints. Hyrekia and Lola Darkslip. Also, "Lord Jester, Mercenary" is due out in early December from Reaper Miniatures. Now's your chance to paint Jester... But what do you call it if I paint myself???

Anyway, check out Jesterspeed Studios
So, Terry, what would you call it when I paint myself???
Note: Heheh, well painting yourself is never as much fun as painting someone else I say... but i would look forward to having other people paint you....
Just don't paint yourself into a corner, and everything should be OK.

That's true, I did it again... I uploaded another inquisitor to my website. But this time he comes with his own retinue of 6!
So if you wanna check this out, visit the Chest of Colors. You can check the recently updated sections like links, galleries, and the minis I have for sale.
And one more thing - I know some people wanted to exchange banners or links with me, but when my system crashed I lost all the data stored on the harddisk. So if you're interested - contact me, please.

Brushthralls.com Update :: Slayer Conversion
Posted by Serpent_Six on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 (06:53:50) (587 reads)
Don your surgical gloves this week, as we're starting a major operation. Dive into the mind of YoungWolf7 and see how he to make an already menacing Slayer and converts it into something truly vicious.
Check it out in Project K2 :: Part 1
**Also, forgot to post news of last week's article, Sponged Metal, inspired by the Great Unclean One over at Curdled Milk!

What does it mean?
Posted by yrret on Thursday, November 18, 2004 (03:11:27) (1439 reads)
First up is another addition to the Golden Demon Winners Auction Week Celebration. This one is a GamesWorkshop Ogre from Jeff Wilhelm of DragonForge.com fame. I have a couple of other Ogres from this range, so it is nice to see one painted nicely. (Depressing to look at mine now, but nice to see this one.) I wouldn't mind having it, but it will probably sell outside my price range. Jeff also has some detailed pics up of REALLY REALLY nice Ork Warboss. That thing is a great display piece.
Mahon is trying to make Owen feel better by also having a crappy computer, but has managed to defeat the challenges, and posted some updates to the WiP gallery. (Get Macs you people! Or at least FireFox).
Patrick Gordon at Artisan's Edge has an update on the "Hoard of Insanity" approach to collecting that so many of us engage in. Some bonafide madmen are exposed. Also he is starting up a starting up some kind of army/battle thing. So far just a bunch of cool bases.
Michael Holzapfel at painted-miniatures.de/ has redesigned the layout and flow of his site, in addition to posting some new stuff since last spotted in the EO. I like the new layout, it has a unique feel to it. Although I know we all hate the CRAPPY layout/theme here, and my apparant laziness on doing anything about it, don't think I don't appreciate a good design.
Last but not least I want everyone to go over and absorb the Abecedarian Comic at LLP if you haven't been following along. Sure it is not exactly mini related, but it is you know a creative thing, and the latest one has some very nice nightmare art in there. I like the way the relationship between Abe and Sloth is going. Pooh ain't got no Tao on Sloth!

Matt Verzani awakens from Hibernation
Posted by yrret on Monday, November 15, 2004 (04:19:23) (1870 reads)
Matt Verzani seemed like he was dormant, but he was just being lazy about updating his site. Heheh. Glad to see a return and the TONS of stuff. The Wood Elf Orion is pretty damn cool, with a unique color scheme, and some very impressive gem work. Anyway, I know by now I am talking to nobody, as whenever I say Verzani, everyone disappears. Heheh. Come back and let me know what you think of the cloak on the elf. Oh yea, before I forget, there are a ton of auctions up too. Shit it is going to be break the bank week it looks like!

Kaple, Ironhalo, MiniVault and More
Posted by yrret on Saturday, November 13, 2004 (14:12:47) (1771 reads)
Rune Kaple at kaple.dk has posted a new Kelen (seen in the thumbnail but better shots at his site.) While I wasn't looking, it also hit the auction block.
Rachel at IronHalo.net has some Ultramarines up. As usual, it is worth popping over to look.
Joe Videki at Joe Videki has a deskfull of fresh lead. Ahhh. What a wonderfull feeling that is. Like a first date.
Owen of the crappy computer at LovableLobsterProductions.com has posted his newest Highshcool Stereotype miniature. hehe, sounds a little bitter. I ain't buyin that cover up story.
Thomas Schadle at MiniVault has posted a set of Tau Fire Warriors. Very nice stuff. I guess he is doing a more cartoony looking version in the future, but this is one of my favorite looks for Tau.
CJ Cummings aka Raging Gainin at Raging Gaijin has posted a review of the Battle For MacRagge Box set. Nice overview, I like the battle coverage too. Looks like it is not a bad deal all in all.
Tom Weiss at TWfigurines has some moderns up as well in a new gallery Fallschirmjager gallery. Being American whenever I see jager I think of course of Jagermeister.
Marko Siitonen at Well of Miniatures has posted some new piccies and lots of word to got with em.

Evil Monsters
Posted by yrret on Saturday, November 13, 2004 (14:00:26) (995 reads)
Russ at ArjaysLotD.com has updated the workbench with some new shots. Jeepers. That is some rocking detail work.
Agis Neugebauer at Agisn.de has some Italian Modern forces up.
Mike Pierce at Curdled Milk has a nice Witchhunter Inquisitor up.
Mayne Thiele at DragonMiniatures has posted a Koren that is an evil looking monster indeed. I like to judge monsters with sort of a freakish concept. I imagine myself slowly waking up in bed and seeing something at the foot of the bed. This would definitely cause a bed wetting. Congrats to the new owner.

Victoria Lamb Auction!!!
Posted by yrret on Saturday, November 13, 2004 (03:01:59) (1659 reads)
Hiya Peeps.
So there is an interesting turn of events it seems. Victoria Lamb from VictoriaLamb.com has posted some updates to her site. Nice. Cool. Wow. etc.
You may know her from here. Heck if you don't know Miss Lamb, you are just not following along with the hobby very well.
In any event, the big news is that Victoria, with whopping feedback on ebay of (1) has decided to put an ENTIRE UNIT on the block has her first venture into online auctions. Holy cow. I can't wait to see where this baby ends up! Someone give me a winning lotto ticket QUICK!!! Or I guess if we were in Australia, we would be hoping for a winning night at the pokies.

Hammer Award
Posted by yrret on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 (01:21:01) (978 reads)
Dodds (aka DragonsReach) at er DragonsReach.org is going to be hitting his Golden Jubilee this January, and is kicking off his wheelchair years by having a painting contest warm up. Pop over and check out his unique approach to this online contest....
The figures he has picked are historicals from the Perry Brothers, a fine pair of talented men to be sure. But I have to say... their website is a bit of a historical challenge in itself. But I won't be thwarted. I will figure it all out and enter. If only becuase Dodds is getting so damn old he might not be able to SEE miniatures for much longer. Heheh.
