Slow Friday the 13th!
Posted by yrret on Friday, June 13, 2003 (11:35:36) (491 reads)
Games Workshop US
Released CADIAN SHOCK TROOPS today in the online store. [Searches around for something new]. Uhh, news I want news. Something anything. All right then, I'll go with the Friday the 13th mini, and encourage everyone to go and post a comment on Jason at CMON. But, other than that, please be careful today with your paint strip jars, and keep your pots well back from the edge of the desk.
It's days like this that the fuzzier elements of Figmentia creep out and try to zap you.

Darthfoley Total Redesign
Posted by yrret on Thursday, June 12, 2003 (21:56:04) (552 reads)
Wow, when I first saw the note that
Darthfoley had a redesign I thought to myself, "Hmmm, I thought it looked good before. I hope they didn't mess it up."
But the new site looks awesome. The color scheme is cool and the graphics are tight and really in theme. They have an embedded Coppermine Gallery, and now I know I am going to have to convert. The Navigation is smooth and consistent. No bugs or broken links.
Great job make sure you check it out.

Figmentia Updated
Posted by yrret on Monday, June 02, 2003 (13:39:22) (536 reads)
Lee updated his site
Figmentia
with 4 new Reapers.
From Lee Olsen
4 new figures (well, technically 5), all commission pieces. Maria Roseblade (the chick in the purple) has a twin, but since they look exactly the same, I only posted one.
My favorite of this bunch is by far the wolf, even though the picture makes him look like crap. He only took about half an hour and looks incredibly realistic from about a foot away. I used the method Mike McCuen described to me when I asked him how he did his wolf way back when. Basecoated with ivory and the rest is a series of gray, dark gray, a little black, and chestnut (sorta, it's homemade) washes. So thanks to Mike for the great tip!

Raging Gaijin Site update
Posted by yrret on Wednesday, May 07, 2003 (22:51:34) (663 reads)
from the Mini-Painter list...
For those interested I've updated
my website with a tutorial on creating display bases for your miniatures. (The cheap way!) Head on over for a quick how-to.
While you are there take a look at KublaCon, the West Coast's largest gaming convention being held on Memorial Day weekend. Andy Chambers and Gav Thorpe will be in attendance, as well as Chris Fitzpatrick and many others. There is also the annual KublaCon Mini-Painting contest being held, and this year I've been asked to sculpt the trophy that will be awarded to the entrants! There will be a Gold, Silver, and Bronze Kubla for all 9 categories, and this is where many who enter the Golden Demon display their gear before the upcoming Games Day circuit. Joe Bob sez 'Check it out!'
